The South Dakota UCC Conference office will be closed Monday, September 6, for Labor Day.

The South Dakota UCC Conference has revamped its Facebook presence, according to Interim Conference Minister David Felton.

"Facebook has recently added a new category of page designed specifically to be the official presence of a business or organization," said Felton. "This 'fan page' will be more functional for the conference, and allow us to provide better networking for members and friends than the former 'group' page."

Felton noted that people do not have to be Facebook members to see the new SD Conference Fan page.

The Vermillion United Church of Christ participated in a big way in Vermillion's recent celebration of it's sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary of the founding of the community along the bank of the Missouri River in Southeast South Dakota.  Church members played key roles in the Vermillion Community Theater original musical production about the history of Vermillion, the church was represented in the sesquicentennial parade, and members welcomed home many former members of the church who had returned to join the celebration.
