Patty King - An update on Patty King whose husband, Greg, the pastor at Chamberlain, was killed in an automobile accident in January. Patty has been released from Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls and has returned to Ohio to stay with friends and continue in physical therapy. When she is able, she will return to Chamberlain for a memorial service for Greg. I will let you know when that will happen. Patty owns a home in Ohio and plans to live there. Duane Rhoadarmer is again serving as Interim at Chamberlain. - David
Bob Sandman - South Dakota Interim Conference Minister from 1994-1995
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Greetings in the name of the Christ.
I am deeply saddened to inform you that our beloved Bob Sandman has been called to be with our Creator.
Bob was called home last night. He passed from a heart attack. His family was with him.
Bob was a great champion of the church, held about every position one could hold in the Church. He was passionate for ministry, evangelism, new church development, the plight of the Farm Workers and Farm Laborers. He served the church with great love and passion, mentored and supported many of us in ministry. He will be greatly missed.
Please let us hold Olgha and the Sandman family in our prayers.
As we learn more about memorial arrangements we will let you know

Next November a coalition of churches in Sioux Falls will be sponsoring a weekend visit of Diana Butler Bass to our town. She will be here for 2 or 3 days sometime between Nov 8 and 11, 2012.
We haven’t finalized the details yet. We just want you to get this on your calendars so you won’t miss the opportunity to share time with her.
Diana is a well-known speaker around the country. Her latest book will be published in February and is entitled “The Great Recession, or A Great Spiritual Awakening”. Her most recent book is “Christianity for the Rest of Us: How the Neighborhood Church is Transforming the Faith”.
Please save the weekend, and look for further details after the turn of the year.
The Hudson UCC Church that closed its doors last year has a few items that need a new home. If your church is in need of a communion table, a baptismal font, altar candle holders, or a cross, please contact Nancy Jacobson at nancynelsonjacobson@gmail.com.
